Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a proven Engineering Manager who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and strategic vision. You will lead a team of engineers and technical specialists, ensuring that all products meet critical requirements for form, fit, and function. Your ability to drive performance, mentor talent, and align engineering efforts with organizational goals will be key to your success. Proficiency in tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively across departments and champion continuous improvement. This is a high-impact role for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about operational excellence.
 
The Details
  • Oversee day-to-day engineering activities and ensure timely delivery of project milestones
  • Collaborate with IT and Production teams to maintain software functionality and continuity
  • Foster strong communication across cross-functional teams to promote a collaborative work environment
  • Plan and manage department budgets, forecasts, staffing needs, and project timelines
  • Develop and track key performance metrics to measure department effectiveness
  • Author and maintain technical documentation related to engineering software and processes
  • Direct, schedule, and manage engineering workflow
  • Standardize and continuously improve engineering specifications and documentation practices
  • Drive process improvements to enhance product quality, efficiency, and capacity
  • Identify staffing and training needs for new technologies
  • Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to the engineering team
  • Partner professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with estimating team on bids, engineering time and project details
  • Assist with engineering duties when schedule requires it
 
The Skills & Experience
Education & Professional Background
  • Associate degree in Drafting or Engineering required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management preferred
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD or other cabinet software; experience in retail fixture drawings is a plus
  • Proficient in 3D drafting tools and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams within fast-paced, results-oriented environments
  • Proven track record in software implementation, system integration, and process optimization
  • Background in manufacturing or construction environments; casework experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and customer service capabilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
 
 
Technical Expertise
  • Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting shop, design, and architectural drawings
  • Deep understanding of bill of material (BOM) structures
  • Familiar with many materials, such as wood, metal, glass, stone, and lighting parts
  • Experienced in various fabrication methods, including cabinet making, metalwork, and electrical work
  • Familiarity with AWI (Architectural Woodwork Institute) standards is a plus
