Entry Deadline: Tuesday, September 5, 2017
Eligibility
Entry is limited to the first 156 players to enter. Entries are open to female amateur golfers who are: (1) currently Associate Members of the MGA at the club from which they are playing, (2) whose club is a current member club of the MGA, and (3) at least 50 years of age as of September 18, 2017. Entries are accepted on a first-received basis. All entries are subject to approval or rejection at any time by the MGA Tournament Committee.
Championship Format
The Championship will consist of two divisions: Senior (50 and older – GROSS) and Master (65 and older – NET). Players that are eligible can elect to play in the master division. Players will be placed in flights within their Division based on their handicap index based on the revision of September 1. All players will play 18 holes of stroke play each day. The Champion will be the player in the Championship Flight with the lowest total gross score after 36 holes. A tie for the Overall Championship will be played off immediately, hole by hole, until a champion is determined. Ties for first and other places within flights other than Championship Flight will be determined by a matching of final round scorecards following the USGA recommendation.
Dress Code
For all MGA competitions, players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing. All entrants are required to wear appropriate golf attire as defined by the host club and/or the MGA. Short shorts, athletic shorts, tennis shorts, denim, tank tops, T-shirts and sweats are not acceptable. The committee will decide whether this requirement has been met and will withdraw the entry of any player not complying.
Code of Conduct Policy
The MGA Conduct Policy will be strictly enforced at the Championship. It may be viewed online in the Tournament Section of the MGA website.
